Tina Kearsley has always been interested to know more about children’s development and how they learn and progress. She studied the Childcare & Education (Level 3) course at UCM, which she thoroughly enjoyed, especially because of the opportunity to work on placements alongside studying at the university college, as well as the supportive team of tutors. Tina is now a Primary School Teacher.
The opening of Little Explorers at UCM, a learning space that re-create the setting of a nursery and where toddler sessions are held a couple of times a week, was a particular highlight in her second year at the College, “This is such a great resource for students studying the childcare course like myself!” said Tina.
Tina’s advice to those who are considering childcare as a career is to discuss it with their tutors, “My advice is to be confident with your choices and also talk to tutors here; they are always more than happy to help you.”
