A message from the Principal

Welcome to University College Isle of Man.

At UCM, we are committed to supporting the Island’s economy, the aspirations of our communities and of course their wellbeing – a commitment that is stronger than ever after the significant disruptions to our way of life and to our education and training over the last 18 months. Our staff and students have quickly responded and adapted to new ways of teaching and learning.

Everyone’s ambitions matter at UCM, and we are really pleased that you have, or are considering us, to help you to achieve your goals. Together, we strive to be an education and training provider that inspires and empowers people to realise their ambitions.

Whether you are a school leaver considering further or higher education, an employee looking to explore pathways to enhance your skill set or someone who is simply interested in learning a new activity through one of our many leisure courses, we hope that here, all of your questions can be answered.

Our close ties with local businesses, form valuable relationships which have a formative influence on the courses taught at UCM, ensuring all students are well informed of their career pathways and prepared to compete in the job market.

Our lecturers are passionate about what they do and have vast experience in the subjects they teach. So too are our support staff, who are always there to help you along the way.  Our 2020/21 student year was again successful, with many of our students exceeding their predicted grades and progressing to their next steps.

Our apprenticeships and higher education student numbers continue to grow year on year, with 83% of our HE students achieving a top grade (1st or 2:1), if you choose to study with us, please know you are in safe hands.

Together, we are facing the future with an overwhelming sense of optimism and positivity and we welcome you to join our UCM learning community.

The future is yours.
