What units will I study?

Applicants have to be in full-time employment.

This City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in engineering is aimed at those who wish to progress in an engineering apprenticeship or for employees in the manufacturing sector who wish to gain a qualification in the specialist area they work in supported by their employer.

There are thee mandatory units which all candidates will study. These units are mainly theory units which support the practical topics.

Three mandatory units:

• Complying with Statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements.

• Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation

• Working effectively and efficiently in engineering

Four other practical units also need to be achieved this will be dependent on your work situation and skills base.

Will I need a DBS check for this course?

No

When will I meet the tutors.

The assessor who is assigned to support you through the NVQ process will arrange regular meetings at mutually agreed times.

What happens once I have applied?

We will send you an email to let you know we have received your application, this will be done through your employer. An initial meeting will be set up with your tutor to explain the NVQ process and how it will be assessed

What are my progression and career options?

With support from your employer you could study part time on the OCR level 3 technical award then progress to HNC level 4.
