Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Information Technology
What is the Course About?
This level of national qualification is designed to provide specialist work-related experience and skills that will prepare you for employment or further study at university. The 13 units you will study, as part of the Extended Diploma, are equivalent to 3 A Levels.

You will be given your timetable during Induction, in September.

What are my progression and career options?
Progression on to a higher level course.
You can go to work and there will be opportunities for you to carry on your study on a part-time basis. This may be by professional courses or through an Apprenticeship.
How will I be assessed?
To pass the course you need to pass every unit that you are taught. Assessments are mainly assignments set by and marked by your lecturer. There may be exams for certain units, which are normally sat in May\ June. If you have to re-sit an exam there will be a fee that you have to pay.
Entry requirements
Level 3 courses have a basic entry requirement of 4 GCSE’s at grade C and above or a Merit at Level 2.
This course is designed for students aged 16 - 19 who have just finished or recently finished school. If you are older than this, please get in contact with UCM to discuss other courses that will be more appropriate.
