How will I be assessed?

The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management is assessed through a combination of written and practical tasks designed to apply theory directly to your workplace context.

  • Written Assignments: You’ll complete two written assessments that require real-world, work-based examples. These tasks are designed to demonstrate how you apply leadership and management theory in practice.

  • Final Oral Presentation: The course concludes with a reflective presentation where you assess your own leadership capability and performance. This includes insights from diagnostic tools, comparisons with best practice, and examples drawn from your professional experience.

This approach ensures that your learning is both relevant and immediately applicable to your current role, helping you grow as a confident and effective leader.

Entry requirements

To enrol on the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

  • Have Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)

  • Be currently working in a management or leadership role
