ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES (ESOL)

What is the Course About?

We offer a range of different level English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses for people who would like the opportunity to improve their general understanding and skills.

Examples of the skills covered in our courses include:

• Developing your writing skills to improve your performance in the workplace

• Improve and extend your knowledge of English grammar

• Develop your speaking skills to improve your confidence to communicate formally

• Improve your ability to identify important information when listening to spoken English

• Extend your use of appropriate vocabulary and idioms for a variety of social settings

Entry requirements

To apply for an ESOL course we will need to assess your current level of knowledge to ensure that the course is appropriate for you.

The placement assessment is all part of the service to ensure that students are given the best possible opportunity to develop new skills and succeed.

Please note the placement assessment is for part time students only. If you are completing a full time course at UCM please speak to your course tutor for further information.
