UCM’s Annie Gill Training Café Open Soon

University College Isle of Man’s (UCM) training café ‘The Annie Gill Coffee Bar’ will be back open from October.

As well as a range of delicious sandwiches, quiches, soups and cakes, all of which are homemade, the café hosts themed events throughout the year.

This year’s themed events are:

  • Autumn theme -17th, 18th & 19th October 2023
  • Christmas theme - 5th, 6th & 7th December 2023
  • Health Eating theme - 30th & 31st January, and 1st February 2024
  • Valentine’s theme - 13th, 14th & 15th February 2024
  • Easter theme - 19th, 20th & 21st March 2024
  • African theme - 14th, 15th & 16th May 2024

Alison Higson, Programme Manager for the Foundation Learning department, said: ‘We’re delighted that The Annie Gill Coffee Bar is back open again and we look forward to welcoming in members of the public to enjoy lunch with us. The café is one of our Real Working Environments where our students get to hone their skills to prepare them for moving into the workplace.’

The café is staffed by students with additional needs who are working towards qualifications and experience in food safety, customer care, barista coffee service, food preparation and cooking.

The café is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; to book a table, call 648245 between 10am and 2pm each working day.
