This programme area offers a year-long Higher National Certificate in General Engineering, which is a great opportunity to develop your engineering abilities and skillset to enable you to pursue a career in the engineering or manufacturing sectors. 

Our engineering programme area is based over two sites, one at William Kennish (close to the UCM main site) and the other at the Advanced Manufacturing Centre at Hills Meadow, Douglas.

  • BTEC LEVEL 4 HNC in Engineering (General Engineering)
    ENTRY:

    Entry requirements can be in any of the following qualifications (or their equivalent):

    • An OCR Foundation Diploma, with passes in the units Maths for Engineering, Science for Engineering and Principles of either Electrical and Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or,

    • A BTEC National Certificate / Diploma in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) or,

    • Study at A Level standard in two appropriate subjects with a pass grade in one (study of Mathematics at A Level is an advantage), equivalent to 32 UCAS points.

    You will be required to undertake an aptitude test as part of the application process
