Could you be the next Governor to help shape UCM’s Future?

University College Isle of Man (UCM) is inviting applications for a new Governor to join its Governing Body, offering a unique opportunity to help shape the future of education, skills and training across the Island.

UCM plays a vital role in the economic and social wellbeing of the Isle of Man, providing education and training for learners of all ages – from school leavers to lifelong learners. Its Governing Body, also known as the UCM Board, is central to ensuring that UCM continues to deliver inspirational, inclusive and future-focused learning for the community.

As a Governor, you will:

  • Contribute to setting UCM’s mission, vision and strategic direction.
  • Provide oversight and constructive challenge to ensure the highest standards in teaching, learning and student experience.
  • Bring your expertise to support decision-making that impacts learners, employers and the wider community.
  • Act as an advocate for UCM, ensuring the voice of students and stakeholders is heard.

This voluntary role offers a unique opportunity to apply proven strategic leadership experience in a meaningful and influential context. Your insights and expertise will help shape UCM policy, drive innovation, and strengthen partnerships across sectors.

Governors typically meet five times per academic year, with additional opportunities to contribute through committee work, campus visits, and engagement in key college events.
