Glowing Student Feedback For UCM

University College Isle of Man (UCM) has been given glowing feedback from its students over the last academic year, with almost 100% of students saying they would recommend UCM to a friend.

Throughout the year, UCM’s students complete three ‘Learner Voice surveys’, with results being analysed throughout and at the end of the year, to find ways to improve courses, facilities and the overall student experience.

In this year’s surveys, 93.1% of students said they would recommend UCM to a friend and 91.8% saying that they enjoyed being a student at UCM.

The occasion is an important and positive annual event for UCM, as it acknowledges not only those who achieve top grades and show commitment to their courses, but also, those who have overcame hardships and difficult personal circumstances.

UCM Principal (Mrs) Jesamine Kelly, said: ‘Student feedback is critical to us at UCM, after all, their success and experience is the reason we are here. We’re always looking at ways to improve our student experience, help them to achieve their goals and support the Island’s employment market. Feedback like this helps us to see what we’re doing well and where we can improve.

‘As well as student feedback, over the last nine months we have met with employers in all employment sectors on the Island to ensure that we are providing courses which meet their needs and future developments, as we recognise the importance of equipping our students with the knowledge and skills they need in their careers.’
