In 2022 after ten years out of education and 2 children later, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and apply for the Level 3 Business Diploma. I can honestly say it has been the best decision. The support UCM has given me has been outstanding  and I’ve experienced nothing but encouragement and understanding from my lecturers.

Since coming back to UCM I have had experiences that will stay with me for a lifetime, I have attended Government House for the pre-Tynwald beating retreat, laid a wreath on memorial Sunday and filmed a marketing piece for Business Analyst day. I am also student council president and have attended governors meetings as part of this role to put across a student perspective.

The positive experience I have had so far at UCM has inspired me to apply for the business management degree next year, an opportunity I thought had passed me by a decade ago. The biggest takeaway  from being back at UCM, is that knowledge is power and it’s never too late to do what you want to do.
