Learner Voice Survey

What is the Learner Voice?

Throughout the year we run Learner Voice surveys to gain vital feedback from our students. We then use this information to better understand what we're doing well and what we can improve on from the viewpoint of our students. This is run three times throughout the year and covers key topics such as applications, enrolment and induction, curriculum, quality and environment and student experience.

We ask our degree, degree-level and postgraduate students to complete a survey from our University partner, Chester University.

You said, we did

The voice of our students matter – your voice matters! From your feedback from the most recent Learner Voice Surveys we’ve made these important changes to how we do things:

You said: The course information on the website was lacking information.

What we’ve done: Our Central Admissions team have added a new process to get fuller information from our lecturing staff and are regularly reviewing this. We’ve also looked at ways to improve our application process and pre-enrolment communication.

You said: That you don’t know what we do with the feedback from the Learner Voice Survey.

What we’ve done: Set up new ways to tell you what the feedback was and what we’re doing about your views. This includes a bulletin board, this page on our website, email, the Student Bulletin and our social media channels.

You said: That you haven’t joined in with activities organised by UCM such as sporting events, quizzes and careers.

What we’ve done: We will ask you what type of activities you would prefer through your tutorials and the student council

You said: that you didn’t know where the recycling bins are.

What we’ve done: More recycling bins are on their way and they'll be signposted.

Thank you for helping us make these changes. Please keep telling us about your experience.
