Offering enhancements and developments to massage techniques, in order to ensure that students are able to provide a safe and effective treatment. Students can then practice these skills at home on friends and family members.
Students will also need to carry out 9 full body massage case studies at home to help with the development of their practical skills before they carry out practical assessments towards the end of the course.
There are also a lot of academic elements linked to this course which will help learners link theory to practice. These include self-direct study of Anatomy and Physiology homework papers (12 online multiple choice quizzes which cover factors such as the: skeletal, lymphatic and circulatory systems etc.) and 3 written assignments covering: health and safety, provide body massage and client care and communication. Alongside 4 external multiple choice exams covering anatomy and physiology and providing body massage.
This course will help you to develop practical skills in providing the relaxing and stress relieving treatment of body massage to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to provide these services to your clients. Underpinning this qualification, you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, as well as client care and communication.
The Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies (VTCT Level 3) is obtained through independent study and completing the relevant online papers to provide you with knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the systems of the human body. This knowledge allows identification of key factors of a healthy body while the pathologies are included in order to identify conditions which may restrict or contra-indicate treatments, and to assist in planning the most appropriate treatment. Email and in-person tutor support will be available.

About this course:
Data analytics examines organisational issues by using available data and a range of analytical techniques to generate meaningful insights. For example, analytics may be used to identify sales trends over time, evaluate customer perceptions of products and competitors, or support evidence-based decision making through statistical and visual analysis.
This course introduces participants of all experience levels to the R programming language using the open-source R Studio environment. In a single two-hour session, you will learn what R is, how to install and configure it, and be introduced to core programming concepts, including importing data, writing simple code, and generating basic analytical outputs such as tables and charts.
The session is designed for beginners and provides an accessible introduction to working in a programming analytical environment. Alongside learning the fundamentals of R programming, participants will also explore how modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can support the coding process. This includes using AI to help explain code, troubleshoot errors, suggest programming approaches, and accelerate learning while still developing a clear understanding of the underlying analytical techniques.
As RStudio is free and open source, participants may install it on their own devices provided they have administrator rights. Following this introductory session, participants may choose to continue onto the wider Data Analytics Series, consisting of eight structured two-hour lectures covering topics such as data visualisation, tables and charts, data distributions, hypothesis and pattern testing, and an introduction to machine learning.
Note: If you are unsure whether working within a programming analytical environment is right for you, this introductory session provides an ideal opportunity to explore the experience before committing to further study. If you would like additional information before enrolling, please contact the email address below.
Pre-requisites to joining:
• No prior programming experience is required, but you would like to try it.
• A willingness to learn analytical thinking and problem-solving in a programming environment
• An interest in developing practical skills in data analytics and AI-assisted programming workflows
