Exams

important update

UCM is monitoring the advice from all of our awarding bodies regarding assessments for this academic year and how you may gain your qualifications. Here is a summary of the current situation where information has already been received by UCM.

BTEC’s, OCR, CACHE NCFE and UAL will be graded by your lecturers using a variety of sources of evidence.  Your course tutor will contact you regarding this.

If and when it is safe to do so we would like to retain the opportunity for our learners to sit the online examinations with City and Guilds and VTCT.  These qualifications with occupational competency will continue to be assessed when the situation allows and this includes our Functional Skills English and Maths.

GCSE’s and A-Levels (WJEC, Cambridge International) will not run examinations this summer.  Each awarding body will identify the source of evidence to be used in the next few weeks.

UCM are no longer able to accept private candidates for the summer 2021 series.

IAB are continuing to undertake assessments and your tutor will inform you of the date of the final assessment.

ESOL assessments will continue when we are able to resume UCM face-to-face activities.

This is a changing picture at the moment where awarding bodies are making decisions that are designed to support you, the learner, in the most appropriate way possible so that you can achieve your qualification and progress to your next level of study or employment.

If you have any specific questions regarding your examination or assessments, please contact your tutor or exams@ucm.ac.im.
