Preparation for Life & Work

General Studies

General Studies is a course for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. This course develops life and work skills for those learners who need additional support. UCM has links with employers as well as offering work opportunities within our own Annie Gill coffee bar.  Students will work towards the essential skills required for work such as time management, improved communication skills, awareness of danger, taking responsibility and recognising cause and effect. UCM also has strong links with outside agencies and works with these to provide the best outcomes for learners of all abilities. Students may also work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
