Hospitality & Catering

The Hospitality & Catering programme area offers a range of full and part-time courses to suit the needs of individuals and industry.

Facilities offered at UCM include a production kitchen, bakery and public restaurant (Cristory’s) as well as two further well equipped training kitchens. Cristory’s offers Table D’hôte lunches, A La Carte lunches, gourmet dinners and afternoon teas. In addition there are themed lunches and dinners, breakfast and coffee mornings.

These facilities provide a realistic working environment for you to learn in, where our experienced subject specific staff prepare you for careers such as chefs, bakers, confectioners, waiters, bar tenders and baristas. In addition further study can lead to a supervisory or junior management role within the industry.

  • Level 1 Professional Cookery, Food & Drink Service
    ENTRY: 2 GCSE’s at Grade D-G or above including English
    DURATION: 1 year

  • Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality
    ENTRY: 4 GCES at grade C or above including English and Maths, a BTEC First qualification in a related vocational area or sufficient relevant work experience for mature learners will be considered.
