Health, Public Services and Care

The Health and Social Care Programme Area offers courses in health and social care and in childcare and education at level 2 and level 3. The level 2 programme is equivalent to three GCSEs and the full- time level 3 programmes carry a maximum UCAS tariff of 168 points, equivalent to 3 A Levels at Grade A*.  We also offer a full degree in health and social care studies in partnership with the University of Chester.

The staff team is made up of vocational experts from a number of disciplines including care, nursing and experienced Early Years practitioners. Student success rates are well above national averages and, as well as gaining direct employment in the sector, our students have left for university to pursue careers in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy and many other related disciplines.  This year, three of our degree students have been accepted on to a Master’s level programme in UK universities.

Substantial work placements are an integral feature of our courses and every year our provision is highlighted for its quality by our awarding bodies.
