What Subjects Will I Study?

These qualifications are for people working in or looking to work in assessment. These qualifications are open to people carrying out assessments in most learning environments including FE, Adult Continuing Learning, Employers and the Third Sector. They are designed for anyone assessing in all occupational sectors, accredited learning and non-accredited learning qualifications.

The Level 3 provides routes for learners to understand assessment and if required, qualify as an assessor. Learners who wish to achieve these units could be assessing competence or non-competence based learning, knowledge or skills.

Q3093 & Q4706 is just the knowledge unit and is for anyone interested in knowing more about these areas of work. Learners do not have to be practitioners to achieve these units. However they can progress on to the competence based course (Q3629/Q4707) when their role allows.

Q3629 & Q4707 includes the knowledge unit as well as the competent based unit where you will be assessed while performing the Assessors role.

What are my progression and career options?

With the Certificate in Assessing and some experience of assessing the next step is to become a qualified Quality Assurance person. Look at the UCM Course P1044 Quality Assurance.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment in the knowledge-only unit is by assignment. Assessment of the other units is mainly by observation, portfolio and professional discussion. Assessment can be planned and managed flexibly. Holistic assessment is encouraged.
